Thanks for that. Not a bad write up, only suggestion I can make is for you to write it with neutral tones - as if you were writing a Wikipedia article. It's nice that you think they look awesome (four times in fact), but it should be more fact based.

Here is a link to the Victorian regulations

My headlights keep the DRL's and angel eyes on when the headlights are switched on as well. Have had no problems with the police about them ever.

Also, just my opinion, the LED strips used as DRL's look ugly as. It's just so cheap and tacky looking and never suites the style of the car (not just on lancers, but many other models of cars out there where I have seen it be put on)

Nice write up Thomas. I'm sure it will answer questions for a lot of people on CCJ.

Noooooooooo! Dear god please don't make DRL's standard! Now the ENTIRE road will look tacky :(

For anyone in New Zealand, you can download a pdf from NZTA here about lighting.

http://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/get-y ... -right.pdf

Daytime running lamps
Daytime running lamps are optional lamps fitted to the front of a vehicle to
make it easier to see in daylight. They have a low light output and are not
bright enough to illuminate the road ahead of the vehicle.

FITTING REQUIREMENTS
• You can fi t up to two daytime running lamps to your vehicle. If your vehicle already has two daytime running lamps as original equipment, you can’t fit a second pair.
• On some vehicles, daytime running lamps operate as a function of the
main beam headlamp.
• Daytime running lamps should be wired so that they automatically
switch off when either the dipped or main beam headlamps are turned on.
• Daytime running lamps must be white or amber in colour. When purchasing daytime running lamps, it is your responsibility to ensure they meet approved standards and are designed for that specifi c purpose. If in doubt, consult a vehicle lighting retailer.

ON THE ROAD
Daytime running lamps are normally designed so that they turn on
automatically with the engine ignition, and turn off when the dipped or main
beam headlamps are switched on.

Ironically, when DRLs are everywhere, cars with them won't stand out in traffic anymore...

Amazing post, how do you find your new headlights? Are they a lot brighter at night? I want to upgrade but only if it will look nice and give me that extra light!

I've have got at DRL setup similiar to the VW golf and the jeeps, where my high beams are constantly on at low voltage when the ignition is switched on. When my blinding Hid's come on the DRL'S turn off. It's another Another alternative to having strips. Even had highway patrol say (that's a good idea) when recently pulled over at a RBT.
