Oh yeah I don't know if I posted it, I think I just said it in chat...

I got my bike L's :) mum said I have to try lessons before I buy a bike though, and life will be easier if I keep her happy haha.

You ride a Hyo GT250 don't you Aaron? The naked one?

I'm interested in the Honda VTR250 right now :)

Oh nice Jake!!! Well done mate :D You're also very lucky your mum is even agreeing to lessons haha let alone you buying your own bike!

Yeah I have the GT250. Fantastic bike but the build finish is a little lacking. If you are considering a Hyosung make sure you buy an EFI model (2010 onwards). I bought it because it is on a 650cc frame, so you can get used to the weight and feel of a big bike. The VTR and Ninja and all those are all tiny 250cc frames, I felt a little cramped on the Ninja. I've heard the VTR is probably one of the best learner bikes you can learn on, but a little expensive and harder to find. You do know we have LAMS now right? The restriction for R-E licenses is now calculated by power-to-weight ratio rather than just the capacity.

Forgot to add, I had lessons with Elite Motorcycle Training. Very professional and will not give you any BS. Highly recommended.

Yeah but the problem with LAMS is just about the only 600cc bikes you can ride are those huge scooters :P

Its also ruled out a few of the 'race' 250s. I was trying to find maybe a 400cc just for a little bit more. I'm not trying to get the fastest bike possible or anything though, I think I'll be a nervous rider. :P

Theres a few VTRs on bikesales. They're around 4-5k :)

I'll have to see what they're like to sit on haha. I'll probably daily it to work mostly.

3 of us from work went and got our L's together lol.

Yeah all the LAMS bikes are heavily restricted and not really worth it... You can remove the restrictions but by then you'll want a proper bike :P

Seriously look at getting a Hyosung if you don't want to spend too much. They don't deserve their crappy reputation nowadays. I've had no problems whatsoever with mine.

Try Gumtree as well, you can get a bargain if you wait long enough!

Awesome! Now to see who will get their R-E license first :P Are your mates getting VTRs too?

Pssh rookie mistake by your mate. You're meant to bring it home suddenly one day without telling them!

Oi Jake, this is a steal:

http://www.perthstreetbikes.com/forum/f ... ost2767970

Nothing to spend on it, he has upgraded the crap Shinko tyres, bought an aftermarket exhaust, low kays, 6 months rego, and it has been kept in his house.

@Dire

I was just on a PSB ride (soooo many bikes!), and was chatting to a guy with a VTR, he said he got his from Victoria for 3 grand, and shipped it over for 450. Might want to consider that? :)
