7500km Service

Postby tomk23 » Fri May 15, 2009 1:55 pm

Hi,

Just wondering what other people did for their 7500km service....as in did you go to Mitsu dealer, a garage such as K-mart Auto or did it yourself.

...and how much did it cost?

Thanks

If it's just a oil change DIY, $20 K&N oil filter and $50 for 5L of synthetic oil (I went for Nulon 10W-40).

I did my 7,500km and 15,000km services myself, wasnt paying $200+ for the dealer to do it with a lower quality oil filter and oil.

Oh and dont forget to get a new sump plug washer/gasket. Less than $2 from a dealer and its worth that extra piece of mind!

My car's not up to it yet - but I will be doing it myself, then reading the 'how to' here on how to get rid of the dashboard notifications......

They can only void your warranty if they can prove the non-genuine part failed or that it caused damage due to a error in its design. They cannot simply refuse to cover you because you use a K&N oil filter, which is actually guaranteed to exceed OEM specifications and of a higher build quality.

And to add to what Ryan said above, Ryco offer their own warranty so that IF any damage done to your engine was proven to be done by a Ryco product, they will foot the bill at the dealer.

Most reputable manufacturers offer the same. BTW who do you think makes the Genuine filters???

I can't be 100% sure for Mitsubishi, but Ryco make about 80% of OEM Filters

Does anyone know how to set the service reminder back one instead of forward?
