Headlight Bulb Legality Question...

Hi Guys,

I'm about the purchase H11, HB3 & HB4 bulbs from somewhere in Clayton.

They are Phillips Crystal Vision 4300K.

Are they legal with stock headlights?

They seller is being really shifty and keeps dodging the question.

I really could do without being pulled over every night.

Been quoted $165.00 for all 3 sets.

Yeah 4300k is a long way from being blue. They'll be fine

Do they have an E mark symbol on them?

It's simple, all bulbs that are legal will have, for example (E4) stamped into the housing, it will be a circle with the E4 inside it, it can be E6 E13 etc.

i run Philips Diamond Vision at 5000k
Theres been no hassle at all. No one bats an eye at them

I have the Phillips 'Diamond Vision' I have had them on for about 1 month now... never been stopped for them.

Even though Philips is a reputable brand, even they make some bulb models that are not e mark. Just check on the package. Usually it will say something like "For off-road use only" or something to that effect.

I agree with CJVRX it definitely the 'blueness' of the light that will get the wrong attention.

As a FYI if you go down the track of getting HID's later on. There are the rules about installing them:
You can legally fit HID headlights IF
1. The headlight assembly is specifically designed for HID lamps and is ADR approved as such.
There are other rules but this point is where everyone gets in trouble- well i did when i had a 350z roadster when the nice highway officer wrote the rule on my defect notice lol

Nobody is going to get in trouble for 4300k bulbs, they won't be blue at all...

We sell 4500k at my work. "Intense" Narva. They are ADR and legal.

while on the subject. what are the brightest lights legal to use?

Well I think havig white lights will be better to havem I have 4350 kelvin rating on my lights. To be all clear from the police, just stick to having bulbs with a white display. not any other colour.
