Brake pads for ralliart
Moderator: Senior Moderators
Front pads are getting low on the ra and now it's time to change them and the rotors while im at it. Looking at rda slotted fronts, green stuff pads and dot 4 brake fluid. The local brake place is doing the work. Anyone using the rda rotors, are you happy with them, any problems.

DBA front rotors seem to be the one's most people get. Though they only make them for the front on our RA's. You'd need to get RDA for back

should also keep in mind that any pad on a slotted or drilled rotor is going to cause more brake dust than the same pad on a standard rotor. the point of the slots is to lightly shave the surface of the pad at each pass to stop build up of glazing.
also, track pads will wear out a rotor faster than a street pad.

It's a daily driver so I want good cold braking without having to get warm but more confidence when attacking mountains without too much noise or harsh on the rotors, so a good compriomise, at a good price. Ive sent a few emails to brake places in my area and I'll see what they offer and what combination of pad and rotor they can recommend.

Got the rda slotted rotors and red stuff pads on the front. Done about 200 ks on them so far and still bedding them in. So far on light braking already feel great even when cold. There is no noise at all. I will post another review after 1000 ks when they have bedded in properly.

QFM HPX pads = Good Choice ...
I didn't bother looking for them in Sydney because our sponsor GSL Rally Sport has them very competitively priced for club members.
They're located in QLD, so the shipping cost is marginal.

Remsa pads are the pinnacle of European quality. Remsa are rated to 650 degrees (versus 550 for something like QFM HPX or Bendix Ultimate), whilst still delivering VERY low rotor wear and noise! Remsa come with noise reducing features such as a relief grooves and shamfers in the pad material, as well as a soft backing shim as standard. Remsa also come standard with the electronic wear sensors where required!

Just replaced my OEM pads after 52,000kms. Went with EBC Red on the front and green on the back. Had braided lines installed on the front while they were there. High temp fluid went in as well. Don't want a repeat of my boiled fluid, smokin' brakes, "OMG is it going to stop?" Sandown experience again.
