I'm going to go to MCA dyno day and hopefully when its on the dyno they can check out the ECU and see if it can be reflashed and how the fuel mapping in it is....

There is a company in Californis called Works that can reflash the ECU.

the Piggy back ecu will void your warranty cause you have to split wires

The works and RRM chips are rip offs... I want a dyno tune that is custom done to my car as this will get the most out of my car. But yeah at this stage I think I'll be getting a Haltech Interceptor...

Not too mention my RRM extractors fucked up within two weeks and they dont seem to give a rats ass about it! There stuff is crap quality and yeah I wont be buyin off them....

Well ill see about the RRM piggy back and as for personal tune will be hard to do cause Open ECU hasnt developed it for the CJ Lancer yet just the Evo X

We'll see how I go, wont be doing it until after May (or whenever I get my full license)....

If I get a cop who knows what they are doing and they find the Haltech Interceptor I'll no doubt lose my license as P plater's arent allowed engine mods in NSW (the zorst and pod i could prolly talk my way out of ).

Going to the MCA Dyno Day mid feb and going to talk to the guy their who is rumoured to be a whiz when it comes to tuning Mitsu motors and yeah we'll see what he has to say :D I'd need to see some decent gains in performance and fuel economy to justify forking out $1500 for it...

Although doing some quick maths if it can save me 1-2L\100km off my fuel economy then yeah it'll pay for itself in saved fuel, especially if petrol sky rockets again (which I forsee happening within a few years)...

For those wanting updated news on this, RPW is now doing ecuflashing of the EVO X and we are also now ready to work on the CJ Lancer.

I already have some base map defnitions, but I am fairly certain that we can with a little work start on reflashing these.

Once this is done we can provide some mail order flashes with basic tuning and of course, full custom tuning at our shop for perth customers.

We are already doing EVO X models now with good results

Can you give us a rough idea on what sort of price we'd be looking at?

we charge $600.00 for a retune on our dyno, mail order flashes will be around $100.00 plus freight

That is pretty reasonable for a mail order flash. Cheers :)
