You realise that as a US site, you would have to buy it and have it shipped (assuming they will sell to you here) and get someone to install it knowing full well that the warranty is void in Australia as it's a grey import...

It does show that we are getting the rough end of the pineapple price-wise for parts

It is a US site, yes. But they do ship to Australia (Friends of mine have bought from there) and I don't see why the warranty would be void? It would have it's own parts warranty, independent of the cars warranty.

Also, if shipping for an RRM turbo kit is $1000, I'm sure the MMCS would be much cheaper to ship than that.

The US MMCS is different to the Australian one and so navigation would not work here even if you used an Australian map disc. Im not 100% sure and correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they may even be made by a different company.

This has been discussed before.
The MMCS sold by Lancershop is the US version.
How you tell is by the knob in the bottom right corner.
It is also pertinent to note that this is a 30GB HDD driven system.
The Australian one uses DVDs for mapping and music.

You will need to buy the US mounting kit though since in their kit, they will provide you some interfacing harnesses. This interface harness is NOT available from local Mitsubishi.
Using that you can plug it into an Australian car.

You can then use your new US MMCS for media playback.
It will NOT serve as a map, since the manufacturer doesn't supply an Australian map for this MMCS version.
