yellow and black leads

just finding out what are the yellow and black leads are underneath passenger seat in 08 lancer.

The yellow ones will be for the air bags in the seats and the black ones are probably for the seat sensors for the air bags in other models

i thought that but they are not plugged into anything. should they be plugged into something.

Yellow wires in our cars are airbag wires, in 2008 only the VRX had airbags in the seats since you say they are not hooked to anything I would assume you have an 08 ES or VR.
