suggestion on brake pads and rotors

hi everyone, Im getting my car serviced next week and want to change my brake setup as well. i was wondering if anyone could suggest a good setup for brake pads and rotors? Cheers

Try to get RA or VRX front brakes as they are bigger and better.

A few member here may have some VRX brakes for sale as they have upgraded to RA brakes.

thanks for the suggestion. I'm thinking of changing the brake pads and rotors for now, then maybe a big brake package later on. haha

if you cant afford to upgrade to VRX calipers you are not going to be able to afford to upgrade to better pads and rotors

DBA 4000 series rotors and some QFM pads would be a upgrade

The pertinent point is if you upgrade the calipers in future, your NEW brake pads don't just move over. You need to buy NEW PADs and in some cases NEW ROTOR as well.

Upgrade the BRAKES i.e. CALIPER & Pads + ROTORS in one hit.

I'm in the process of collecting parts to upgrade handling and stopping. I understand the Raliart rotors are larger, are they twin piston calipers? Will I need larger than the 16" wheels to cope, otherwise, i'm just going to get some new slotted RDA7646 @65 each and some better quality pads

The ralliart rear rotors cannot be used in a fwd car. The hub of the rotor is larger in diameter than the fwd brakes so the handbrake wont work.

DBA rotors part number DBA2201S for the front and DBA2209S for the back, i believe the pads are DB1441's for front.

You think the DBA rotors are worth the 40 each difference? DB 1441 would be the Bendix number, I was told they give off abit too much dust to have a CAI and that QFM HPX would be better in terms of dust and equal in performance, also about 40 cheaper

DBA rotors are a lot better than RDA's in my opinion, they are made from a higher quality steel. also any slotted rotor is going to cause more brake dust no matter what the pad is.

These arrived from the US this morning, full set zinc dipped slotted with ceramic pads, 300 bucks, off to see the wizard now, find out how much to install all this stuff.
Call me crazy but buying rotors in Aus seems to be a waste of money, at least so far, I might have been able to do the fronts for that much

The cheapest slotted RDA's I saw were 179 plus 30 for delivery, just the fronts. While I had to wait 3 weeks for these rotors, DBA is out of stock anyway so the shipping wait was irrelevant. Buying a CAI was easy too, about 320 delivered I think, 6 days it took. Service in this country sucks because there is no competition
