Today went in to Northshore Mitsubishi.
Had the brake check valve and bonnet cable replaced under warranty/recall/ quality improvement.
Also booked in an early oil change (did not do at 1500km first service).
As the car was not quite ready at 3 pm as promised, and due to your inconvenience in bringing in the car for the recall .... sir, your oil change is at no charge.
Wow...customer focus! We should not be surprised when we are looked after, however given my firm belief that customer service is generally dead in Australia, so here is a vote of encouragement in difficult times for dealerships Australia wide.
Well done Northshore ......

I have found Kloster's in Newcastle to be quite good, they don't muck around and do the job. They've also looked at a few things for me when I've requested it, and I don't get treated badly because I didn't buy the car there.
By far the best service department I've encountered is Cessnock Mitsubishi, and anyone who would travel there should. They were the cheapest for my 75,000km service and their workshop is focussed mainly on Mitsubishi. Ask anyone, I wax lyrical about this place!
What really impressed me was when I had my old 1998 Magna V6 in for a timing belt change. When I picked it up they invited me in to the workshop and showed me all the old parts, and the most impressive part was when they showed me this pulley. The pulley (which had no real use) was the subject of a service bulletin some 7 years prior - it had never been taken out and they still knew to do it.
After my recent service, they called to ask how everything was going and I made sure they knew how happy I was with them. I really regret not buying the car from them now...my local dealer's "new car customer special price" for the same 75,000km service was $150 more...but at the time of purchase, money talked.
