what i hate the most is how the engine is located infront on the struts..Makes the car more front heavy and more understeer

The benefits far outweigh the few small issues I have with it (and would be able to fix with some time and effort). A point I have found with the window sill being too high for comfortably resting an arm on when driving: I initially had this problem, but it really depends on the seat height (seems fairly obvious once I thought about it). Being 6ft, I had two options: seat high enough to sit my arm on the window sill, or (my current option) lower and resting my arm on the door handle
ledge/sill/whatever you call it - inside the door. Being somewhat prone to sunburn, this is a better option for me :-)

i had the rattle with bass problem, its only your number plate. break off the rear number plate outline, the plastic mitsubishi one, then put those little rubber dots, that stick on one side, like $2.00 from bunnings, every 10cm or so and then it wont rattle anymore, too easy.

As with most standard cars, I don't like the suspension, to soft, not enough grip in tight corners. Of course, I'm comparing it to my tf Magna, which was fairly warmed up and had super lows and two front stabilisers, don't ask me how they got two on there, there when I bought it. Compared to the V6 it's pretty gutless, and it's been so long since I owned a 4 cyl car I can't really compare it.

The cheapness of the plastic dash reflects in the glass making vision difficult, at least distracting, easily fixed with a dash mat i suppose, but then it will look like grandpas car.

The clutch is soft and tends to grab. fuel economy on the freeway is dreadful, my stock tj 3.5 magna was better, but then it was better than the tf, 3.0 so u never know

The gearing is not tall enough in 5th, and if anyone knows where i can get a six speed that will fit a 2.0 do tell.

Basically I like the car, i suppose it will just take a bit of getting used to

Mines never gone under 7, and I live in Wollongong, which means u take the freeway to go to the toilet lol.
Perhaps its time to get some filters changed and the plugs changes, its on 80k now so a few things are probably due

I find you get the best economy cruising about 65-75km/h, anymore than that and the car seems too heavy for the little engine to pull with ease (I have the 2.4ltr). Around town this things chews a lot less petrol than my old 380 but on the freeway theyre very comparable, infact in the 110km/h highway section, the car uses more than the old v6.

Recently on my trip to and from Brisbane I got 6.8l/100 in both directions.

Trip was 1100kms and I had to get over a 1400m high range, oh I have the 2.4 CVT.

I think it's important to remember the size of this vehicle. at over 1400kg its only about 200kg shy of a large v6 sedan. To get about 8-9ltr/100 (combined) is pretty good mileage I'd say...

It depends how you drive...
If you have a heavy foot, quick of the lights, then the lancer will drink!!!
However, if you try to be conservative, then the fuel economy will be decent. Ive been able to get mine pretty good averages, bu dont ask what it is now...
Mine's quicker then yours!!!

I wouldn't complain about the overall, mileage, just think if they added a 6th gear to the manual, u cld prop on 100 - 110 and get good mileage, of course, going up Mt Ousley it's 4th gear anyway. Mostly I drive it like a trail bike, blip blip blip top gear
