A 90k service should only cost around $200 if nothing is wrong with the car, i.e. nothing needs replacing, other fluids or parts.

actually if you look at the logbook by Mitsubishi, there's quite a few things needed to replace, e/g/ transmission fluid, brake fluid, spark plug etc ..

Oh yeah, I forgot (me slapping my head)

Just checked my last bill for my old car at 80k service is $600, one quarter of that is parts, rest is labor. Standard fuel/oil/filter change, flushed radiator, new coolant, brake pads front and rear, machined rotor, a few leaking hoses, etc.

Just got quoted $1250 for 90k service... Might be disputing that as they have a good habit of stuffing up on every visit. There would be a little bit extra for hunting a wheelbearing like noise in the passenger rear, but I would hope since it was noted at 45k that it should be a warranty issue..

They wanted $1268 for the 90,000km service when I arrived. I made an anonymous call before then and got quoted $670. After advising this and having it denied, I rang the nearest dealership, specified all the details for a quote and got advised $700 which was done on speaker phone at the end. I asked whether it was due to the car being leased and billed to the company, no answer, asked why there was a $600 difference, was advised it was due to the trans fluid being worth $380 alone. Explained a normal service was usually priced at $360 through them, add trans fluid and an air filter and you dont get $1268. He redid the invoice for $700. Never trust a dealership...

How is this possible? I thought Mitsubishi had fixed price servicing.

Edit: Now I realise it only goes up to 60k. Hrm, well that sucks.

my dealer told me timing belts were used on 2010+ models. Its stated in the handbook in the service section. Unless the service handbook is mistakenly printed.

what kind of costs have you guys found for timing belt changes at different mechanics?

Our engines have a timing chain.(Full stop)
CVT auto have a steel belt. It is not serviceable. It lasts the life of the transmission.

Just got my 90K done, cost me $610, and he replaced what he could with non OEM. And that was with checking a few other things I was concerned about.

I bought my Lancer from DVG. Got the 90k major service today...600bucks.

Judging from previous posts, this seems to be standard WTF.

Should have kept my Nova...
