I'll be taking the server down tonight at 3am AEST to do a "cold backup" of all our data to our hosting providers central storage system. To do this monthly task I need to put the server into a "single user" mode to make sure all the files are not being modified during the backup process. Being that is the first time I am doing a full cold backup with all our data loaded up on the server, I have no idea how long it will take. I suspect 30mins to an hour.
