It's simply that your state doesn't have enough people. 3 people group ship takes the weight up to another price bracket and dimension which is why we decided to individually ship for NSW.

I'm sure I can work something out. How will the both of you then share the shipping cost? 50-50? daveee's V-Lip is the expensive part to ship here as it's the bulkier one. We could also do it by ratio of the cost of the part. You won't save very much and Ozie will end up paying more for his things.

However, that's NOT The problem. The big problem is ARE YOU BUYING? say @ A$350 and A$310 respectively, will you both go for it? I need a committed answer. Else everyone else's purchase falls through.

Group buy generally means everyone buys at the same price..not a few get it at an inflated price and the rest get it much cheaper.

Ship it all to the same place then distribute from there so everyone shares the shipping costs EQUALLY so we are buying as a GROUP.

I'm sorry that you think of it that way.

If we do that, then think about it this way. I need to ship all the orders to one address: that's 8 V-Lips, 4 C-Lips, 2 noses and 1 fender to Victoria. How do you think that looks for customs and duty? Can we reasonably declare that as being < A$1000? So by mailing it to one person, we get hit with the 10% GST and 5% Duty. The onwards postage from Vic will then incur more cost.

Your item due to size (NOT weight) needs to be shipped by courier. We can't use simple postal services for the V-Lip due to its dimensions.

Say we then change the dynamics a little and just consider NSW then, Why don't I ship all of NSW's parts to Ozie. You can't leave Bandit out can you? Else it wouldn't be equal.

Here's the mathamatical breakdown:

daveee V-Lip Part Only A$240 (A$115 shipping) = A$355
Bandit C-Lip Part Only A$110 (A$95 shipping) = A$205
Ozie Fender + Nose Part Only A$220 (A$95 Shipping) = A$315

So let's group everyone in NSW as per your idea. Now due to your part, both Ozie and Bandit need to have their parts shipped by courier too. FYI since you've asked, I've already emailed the dealer for a quote on group shipping your bits by courier. I'll let you know tomorrow how much the group ship comes to. So instead of Bandit getting his part of A$205, he's opened up himself to a new ratio system of some value of the couriered cost.

It's NOT an equal cost. For the additional A$20 you're getting it shipped to your door. Each guy in VIC is paying $95 to ship a V-Lip and $80 to ship a C-Lip to my place, NOT like everyone else shipped to your own home. They're all shipped to me and they'll have to meet me somewhere or at my place to get the part. Petrol on their part (and mine) is also an associated expense. Yours is shipped to your home. This is simply saving due to the numbers we have in VIC. 5 V-Lips and 2 C-Lips. I've saved the guys in WA, SA and QLD chunks of cash by cutting this deal and we're squabbling over A$20 which is less than any onward shipping cost within Australia.

I hate this squabbling over A$20. Sometimes I wish you'd consider what you've saved on the eBay price of A$480 for your part. You've saved close to A$125 due to the group buy. That's what the group buy has done for you and if you pull out due to A$20 everyone has to put in more to get the deal done.

If A$20 is the stumbling block to you agreeing the deal, I'll cover your A$20 and let you buy it at the VIC rate of A$335. As I said before in another thread, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

I don't think you'd want me as a Prime Minister. I'm simply not saving you enough. Perhaps you need KRudd who puts A$900 into your pocket rather than me taking A$355 out of it or in another way of looking, putting only A$125 *back* into it.

And gee, I think I made nothing from cutting us this deal. Should I seek a kick back too? I arranged all this. Had to put up with constant questions. Oh I made overseas calls to work out this deal on my phone card on my own expense. Should I put these charges back into the price? I'm paying A$335 like every other Victorian. *sigh* But that's a group buy!! I'm saving A$145 from buying it off eBay!

The prices he has quoted for individual delivery is cheaper than what we all could get them anyway.

The point is I would have calculated for GROUP delivery for the NSW boys first prior to doing it seperately. Surely Group Delivery would be cheaper BUT delivering the V-Lip which is HUGE dimension-wise would increase the cost for 2 other people. It was not worth it.

If NOT me, please spare a thought for the dealer. First we badger him on price. Then we try to structure shipping permutations. We still have not sent him a cent. One pull out the whole domino comes falling down. He's spent a bit of time costing things up what if one of you pull out? He has to restructure his pricing again.

For anyone else NOT on the list and still want parts (especially in NSW), please let me know ASAP if you'd like to be part of this group buy. I can still work you in at these prices and you might save those on the list abit more.
