Its a race setup right? Not one at a time?

nah you'll be fine lol the karts have such a low centre of gravity they sit a few mm off the ground it'll be impossible to roll them and the brakes are pretty good on them :P

yep, race setup you have everyone on the track with overtaking etc, but contact with another vehicle and you lose points

Let me clarify.

If you check out their website there are 3 relevant types of karts:

Little Thunda;
Big Thunda; and
Twin Engine Pro Karts.

Not even going to bother with the Little Thunda, for obvious reasons.

The big thunda is the "slow" kart I mentioned - IMO.

The twin engine karts are the fun ones - fact

For our purpose, the Big Thunda on the Jack's Hill Climb is probably the best 'bang for buck', they are slower than the twin engine karts, but still fast enough for everyone to have a fun enjoyable time.

It's a bit less serious (no race suit etc) for people who just want to put put around, and a more technical go kart track than the larger raceway so still some bragging rights for the winner.

I think the best option is Midi/Maxi Grand Prix, decent amount of track time without being too much.

Maybe schedule it for 10am so we finish up around lunch time and then cruise to food?

There are other places Matt, but Warren's is probably the easiest to organise.

well why not go on the race track, i did the jacks climbs and had fun, the race track would be insane as i found that the hill climb sucked for people that carry more weight like myself, just get overtaken....

Going on the race track means you have to go through a full briefing, wear race gear and pay a lot more

I'm happy to do either, but keep in mind the race track is made for V8's etc so it is really wide for a go kart.

The problem is that would other wise be a really fun 's' bend, is just a straight line...It's still challenging though.

I guess it just comes down to the sort of people who come along (if they want race track or not) and whether we get the track to ourselves (randoms are often stupid and make it unsafe to be on the track with them).

Oh and I still plan on overtaking you (and especially Rahul!) regardless of which track we end up on :D

Weighing as much as a small girl will finally have a use...
I want it to be competative. I'm worried about the track being too big or the hill climb being too slow :?
Still an experience I want to have though so I'm still a yes. :)

Jake, the hill climb is still a heap of fun, its just "safe" fun. You will want to go faster, not slow down for fear of your life - as with the pro karts :P

My point is, the hill climb is slower, but has more sharp turns etc which means it's a more 'technical' track. The race track is bigger, so more straight line fun than the hill climb, but at double the speed - and plenty of room for everyone to overtake Rahul

And yeh being small has its uses! Its times like these I'm glad I'm not the 6'6" basketballer I wish I was.....actually...
