Personalised Plates Pricing

Postby Calvino3 » Mon Sep 05, 2011 12:55 am

Hey guys in WA,

Im pretty keen on getting black custom plates, but am a bit confused at the differing prices and types....

I think the most you can get for custom characters is 9 characters on a plate...

Any clues ??

Hi Calvin,

Have a look at This

It is the FAQ's for WA custom plates.

On the website you can also check and see if the plates you want are available.

There is a pdf there that has the pricing on it as well.

My opinion: keep the money for tinting and buy a plate of someone ie.ebay

I bought my plate of someone for $90 BARGAIN! if i was to personalize it will cost me $450ish. The plate was brand new which mean no transfer fee charge.

Custom plates are something I'd classify as a 'finishing touch' but each to their own.
They're not that expensive here though compared to some states.

Wow is that a one off payment?

Over here I am paying $90 a year for a personised number plate which conforms to the existing pattern. A fully customised plate is $450 a year. O and there is also a one off $90-110 fee for the printing of the plate.

Why would anyone pay $450 a year for plates?!?!?!?!?

I paid $450 (one off payment) for mine and I feel like I got ripped off...A word of warning, choose your new plates carefully!

You would be surprised. I see plenty of fully customised plates on the road, I guess there must be some value in it.

I was fortunate enough to be able to have my name using the existing patterns, and I think it is worth the $90 a year. We all mod our cars to make it our own and unique... how much more unique can it get to have your name on it!

I'd take offence at having to essentially pay rent on something you own...

I'd happily pay WA rates on custom plates if I had a car I was into modding. Its still a scam but its worth the price if you really want some.

Get the plate first, it'll stand out alot more than with standard plates

(the exact reason why i dont have a custom plate on the bike, don't want people to remember my plate if i speed past them :P )
