How to stop subs from moving?

Epic fail for crappy drivers

a packet of 4 75mm square brackets from bunnings and a pack of 25mm 8guage steel self drilling steel screws. about $12 from bunnings. line the brackets and sub up, mark around the outline of the sub on the sub box with masking tape. take sub box out, line brackets back up using the masking tape and use a 2 or 3mm drill bit to drill pilot holes into the sub box. the back off the bracket pack i had said use a 3mm drill bit, but i think that was too big and 2mm was more appropriate. put a phillips head bit in the drill, turn the clutch torque down lowish and then drive the screws into the box to hold the brackets down...back into the car, line it up (u might need tobend the brackets back from 90 degrees a lil bit) get a self drilling screw put it through the whole on the bracket, apply pressure and the screw will drill and taps its own hole

on my previous car i used velcro strips underneath the sub. didnt move at all

If you have the time and can be bothered I would put a false front on the box that fits the boot exactly running it into every edge - will give it a much more custom made look as well as securing the box in place.

Shouldn't cost you much as doesn't need to be thick MDF and then just buy some carpet that matches the existing carpet.

Hoggy's idea is a good one, but if you don't want to go to that much effort a few decent strips of thick velcro is the easiest method without having to drill into anything. Unless you drive with reckless abandon you should be fine with some velcro

you can also use velcro under the boot carpet and attatch it to the spare wheel cover. this will stop the carpet from moving.... and then u can drive wreckless as much as u want
