problem with adjustable air vents

I have an MY09 it was built September 2008 and the vents are fine no loose ones that I have noticed....

That is what I do and they still end up pointing up. Its not about where you like to keep them, its just about them being loose in general for some people.

Could it just be a wear thing? I never move mine as i rarely use A/C, so im thinking maybe some are still nice and tight, where as some people may move theirs more often and loosen them...???

Apparently Steve said that they tested a couple of new cars on the lot and they did it too... So now they refuse to fix it...

I don't understand why you wouldn't just go to the MTA, or whatever the equivalent in QLD is.

Hey Steve, yesterday i did a bit of driving and paid particular attention to my vents, they are solid as a rock (2010 build MY11 SX).
It might have been a batch issue, i had some different annoying problems in my first month with the car (seat belt lockup, air con died after 3 weeks), both were apparently a batch issue which affected quite a few buy not all cars.
It could be an idea for people to provide build-dates if they have the same problem, it could help narrow down affected cars. Just a thought.

Called McGraths Liverpool this morning, where I bought the car from.
Advised them of the issues with my vents (passenger side vent has an different issue).. booked in for this thursday to have it looked at, will keep you updated.

Not happening on mine at all ever since I got the car

75,000Km MY08 ES

Drove all the way from TAS to NSW no problem noticed so mine can be listed as extensive road tested hehehe
