if is wasn't for the carpet or lugs sticking out of bonnet I would almost think they are real cars. Are they battery RC or gas RC cars?

yes they can Mitch HPI do a 200mm EVO X body to suit, (99% of gas cars are 200mm wide)

Tamiya do 190mm designed for electric

and yes HPI (HPI stands for High Priced Imperfections) make a 200mm one but the look shit if you want one closer to 200mm look at the white one i posted up

Problem with on road cars are:

You need suitable area to drive it
they are no fun by yourself

Good thing with Off Road is that you can drive them anywhere.

i prefer off road trucks/buggies. easier to throw around, and take it anywhere
