personally though i feel if a car in front of me had blinking lights it would distract me from other obstacles on the road (especially in traffic) my 2 cents for wat its worth.

thus why they are still currently illegal, in aus, not just by ADR either, by the police enforceable road rules.

Around here, if you're going for a CVT VR-X or Aspire, the price difference is about $2k. I reckon that's pretty worthwhile for MMCS, HIDs and leather seats at the loss of the larger spoiler.

With regards to illegal mods, it's up to the owner to understand the risks of doing it. As long as they're not actively encouraging other members to do the same, then I don't have an issue with it. It would be a matter for police and the roads authority to deal with.

I have to agree the Aspire is much more worthwhile compared to the VRX. It has way more features for only a few extra grand. HIDs, leather, MMCS, woodgrain trim, chrome.

The only losses are the VRX spoiler and alloy pedals, both of which you can get added on by the dealer.
