Gearbox hesatation plus noise.

Postby soniclancer » Sat May 28, 2011 11:06 am

Ok only had the car few days and on warm up there is a noise that sounds like its coming from somewhere near the gearbox also when driving the gearbox seems to hesatate to shift gears also it goes from 2500rpm up to 3000rpm hold for a bit then starts to build up higher rpm not sure if this a normal thing for the ralliart lancer but i have it booked in monday to get checked out.Iam the second owner and car has had all it s services done.

Interesting, not sure what is the problem.

How many k's has the car travelled?

Did you buy it from a Mitsubishi dealer and is it under warranty?

Let us know the outcome please.

You should have no issues getting this fixed under warranty then. This is good as SST transmissions are not cheap.

does it go away after the car has warmed up ? Mine seems to shift funny when it's cold but is fine after warming up.

Though i've notice the SST shifting from 1st to 2nd is really slow compared to the rest , anyone else noticed ?

Hi there,
Mitsubishi sometimes can take up to a week or sometimes to get back to the dealer when problems like this occur. The Mitsu rep may need to drive your car before this repair goes ahead.
