Yeah thats true can understand that. My oil is pretty dark as its just clocked 12,000, will be well over 13,000 when i get back to sydney. Then as soon as i get back ill book it in.
If i was just doing the 7500 service i guess i would just go to a local mechanic,either supply your own oil or get them to provide the same oil and filter as Mitsubishi recommend.
I would be concerned if Mitsubishi noticed a differant type of oil filter when they did the 15k service.

I'm interested to get a response from my dealer as to how much a 7500 km service would cost. From older threads, it looks like it's in excess of $250 to get a complete service.
The oil and filter not being genuine isn't too much of an issue unless it goes wrong. The Mitsubishi warranty, rightfully, doesn't cover anything that's been replaced with non-genuine parts.
With regards to quality, I don't think there's even a Mitsubishi branded oil out there. The dealer uses whatever is applicable to the service manual, and in my case it's Castrol oil.
