Gotta love your warranty

Postby big_d » Tue Nov 09, 2010 11:59 am

After compiling a list of warranty issues, I booked my VRX in at the Mitsi to get looked at.

They were;
• Idling erratically & causing the engine to stall – They found the TPS sensor had a build up of carbon & have replaced it.
• Intimate loud knocking coming from the engine at idol – The are looking into this some more as I gave them a sound recording but I'm yet to find out what the story is as the car is still in the shop. (I will keep you guys up-dated about this one as there are a couple of others on here with the same issue).
• Insanely noisy wipers – They found the seals in the motors have prematurely worn & have ordered a new complete wiper assembly set from Japan! I'm stoked!
• Paint on the base of the rear bumper starting to oxidize – They are repainting the rear bumper.
• Tail light plastic oxidizing – They have ordered a new set of tail lights.

And Mitsubishi are fixing all the problem sunder warranty!

When I last brought up some warranty issues at it's last service (30K) they kind of fobbed the issues off with lame excuses.
So when I brought it in with a long list of issues, they directed me straight to the Workshop Foreman so I could deal directly with him.

Oh, and my car only has 34,000kms on the clock.

Man, I am absolutely stoked with the response from Mitsubishi this time around!!
Thumbs up to the service from Armstrong Motors, Wellington City :D

That's great to hear that things worked out for you. Some people have just found themselves at a major loss because they'll look for whatever escape they can get.

Good result with the warranty ... but pretty poor result with the quality of the car you got. A bit unlucky there.

My cruise control wasn't engaging properly. All it was, was a loose terminal, all fixed under warranty. Just trying to get them to give me the drivetrain warranty as they say it isn't transferable between owners however in the warranty booklet it states that it may be transferred.

I get that same intermittent knocking sound at idol. One of my best mates dads works at mitsubishi and said it could be something to do with an oil release valve or something like that. Ive gotta book my car in in the next few days to get that checked under warranty. Hopefully its nothing serious...

Hmm it's been 5 months since my MMCS was diagnosed with an issue and they ordered me a new one from Japan.

I bet it's not even the MMCS. I'm willing to bet it's just the GPS antenna.

But meh. I'm still waiting.

Ok, so I went to pick my car up last night,
they said "all done, how ever there is one issue"...

when they picked the car up from the painters, the painters had mistakenly re-painted the front bumper instead of the rear bumper LOL.
They're going to paint the rear bumper when I drop it back in to get the new wiper assembly installed.

Can't really complain with a cock up like that.

Oh, and I got a set of front slash guards installed to match the rears whilst it was in the workshop. They look great 8)
