1.8 MT RM79999k
1.8 CVT RM87k
2.0 CVT premium RM94k..

That's the price list for the Proton Inspira.

Fingers crossed for cheaper parts! :D

For those looking for info on the Proton Inspira:

Preview drive: http://paultan.org/2010/10/13/proton-p3 ... iew-drive/

Pricing/launch details: http://paultan.org/2010/10/14/proton-in ... more-44485

I'm really curious how good (or hyped up) the Lotus tuned suspension is. Having driven the Gen2 and Waja quite extensively, I'm expecting it to be pretty decent because the handling has always been the saving grace for Proton.

Sounds like a lot of parts will be consistent with our CJ other than the front bumper; who knows... maybe there'll be some exciting head lamp and tail light assemblies coming out!

Wouldn't laugh about it. I'm willing to bet that it'll be pretty decent based on the previous Protons I've driven. That being said, I'm also betting there'll be electrical gremlins which pop up out of nowhere. We have a couple of Gen2's and they randomly/intermittently have issues such as interior-lighting not turning on when headlights are on, alarm system activating whilst driving, windows not working, etc...

AFAIK no sportback version. Sportback is still exclusively Mitsubishi and you need the parallel imported model. Interestingly the more well endowed/higher spec models of the Lancer are still only available in the Lancer GT (similar to our VRX I think?) which is bought from Mitsubishi.

I find it funny they have 4B10 too.. but that's normal, since Malaysian cars tend to be less well endowed due to road tax being based on CC.

Sportback has just been launched in M'sia as well from Mitsubishi as an answer to the Proton Inspira.

Apparently, Proton wasn't allowed to fully play around with the suspension because Mitsubishi put a condition on it that they could only tweak it to certain limits, I guess therefore not taking away too many sales from their own product. Don't expect wonders with the handling, it may be better, but not anything crash hot.

Guess I'll have to wait until I fly over there and try it out.

I'd be interested to see if it handles very differently when driving spiritedly because that's what I found the Gen2 to be good for. That being said, I don't know how much that new bumper will actually aid in cooling the transmission.
