You guys haven't gotten your mod powerz yet have you?
Theres a few threads that need de-announcing etc, I never got a chance to cos they took everyone's mod powers without notice...

The 1st october cruise, the paintball day everyone seemed to forget about...
And you need to decide how you're going to manage cruise dates now, monthly or what? It might make the reminder thread irrelevant.

We're the only state that had scheduled regular cruises... It got us some of our best and our most disappointing cruises. Maybe moving it around to different days and times will enable non-regulars to come. Idk.

Oh and by the way I made you 2 admins of the facebook group. I left myself and Graham as admins cos I don't see why not. All trusted members can be admins the way I see it :) its not too useful but if you make events with it it will remind people of the cruise on facebook as well.

Just the stuff I said as far as I know. When you have your powers you can do what you want though... You can delete useless threads if you feel like it too but I find its best to leave everything and just de-announce or de-sticky them and they'll go away :P

I editted in about the facebook group in my previous post...

I wish I had some advice about how to get good attendance at cruises but I have no idea >.< sometimes everybody chats and gets excited and others they don't... Try and get people involved I guess and it'll snowball to a decent size hopefully :)

Really all your jobs are is thread maintenance and deleting/editting inappropriate posts. Idk what you're supposed to do as a 'senior' mod Rahul? Haha. I guess that makes you 'the guy' for group buys etc?

Its funny, the first one I went to was the 3/9 which was our biggest turnout. In the weeks leading up to it everyone kept asking who was in, there was so much talk about the cruise. I kept thinking it was this really big deal and everyone was right into it. Then the next month there was nothing said until a few days before, and there was just 2 of us! I don't mind the idea of a Sunday cruise every now and then but night time seems better for some reason.

I think state messages make a difference. If you give someone a link they'll follow it.

The idea of monthly cruises was that people wouldnt need to be reminded or even check the forums to know when the next cruise was, but it doesn't seem to work like that, you need to do your best to remind people, and to build enthusiasm. So a state message with a link (although I think all links are broken in state messages lol, but you can put it as text) will makes them visit the thread, and see the discussion, and be like 'yay cruise coming up!'.

And remind them in advance, as everyone here seems to work at random times. Not many of us have standard hours :P

Perhaps if you want to build more of a community here you could run some cheap group buys to get people involved in the club, and maybe people will start wanting bigger purchases through the club (start with something like a panel filter GB? Or another lighting purchase or something).

Although, I'm unsure on the new rules. Idk if a senior mod can do it all themselves or needs to go through higher powers. Friggen politics, we're fine here without it...

I think we'll be changing the responsibilities of each person who is now elected to committee. this will be discussed within the comm soon. At the moment, I'm getting Matt to redress everyone's status. Until he does so, we're still in transition.

Don't be excited. Alot to be done in the next year... .

I'm going to try and be enthusiastic all the time to encourage new members to come meet us all :)

Sorry I haven't been able to attend any cruises. Uni is too full on and with a part time job and a girlfriend, I have no time. I think you are going the right way with the BBQ on the Sunday, it's a more friendly event and to tell you the truth, traveling down the zig-zag at night time is not the best idea and kind of put me off ( might be different for others).

You could also maybe incorporate it into also going to the drags in Kwinana or something like that, might appeal to some more people + it's a nice cruise down the freeway ;)

Thanks for your time ;)

Zig-zags is only scary if you go fast enough for it to be scary.
But people that haven't been might get worried.

Though the road isn't too amazing. Just different. I don't think we'll go there very often...

Jake, we dont need to run smaller group buys to take part in bigger group buys cuz well whats the difference? the bigger group buy would be cheaper in most aspects.... and yes me and matt are goin to address the numbers and problem of planning cruises.... it seems that ure not very happy from ure answers? they seem a bit pessimistic in my opinion and is not the way to start off before me and matt even have gotten anything started or even have our titles changed on CCJ.... I would appreciate a more optimistic outlook to everything now cuz if people are goin to be pessimistic now and just keep being down nothing is gna change really and we will be the same as before in terms of cruise attendances and actual member base in WA....
