Hey there,
I recently installed a few interior neons in my cj and am looking for a place to mount the switch
Does anyone know how do remove the switch panel next to the steering wheel? ie; the part with the 'ASC OFF' button
Kind Regards,
Ash

You have to remove the passanger side trim first. The trim that goes under the stereo must be removed before you start on the drivers side. Once that trim is off remove the two screws on the bottom of the drivers side trim panel either side of the airbag. then gently pulldown starting from the centre working towards the door.

Hey,
thanks Speedie
i was thinking it might be that, i actually had all the passangers trim off the other day when i was installing them lol shouldn't be too hard now
i was gonna pull those screws out, but thought it might have something to do with the knee airbag, so i didn't... i didn't want it to launch out or anything
Thanks for the help +1

Sorry but I'm wondering why you would need to remove the passenger side trim prior to removing the switch panel?
I've done a switch on my car to trigger a grill light and I never needed to do anything on the pax side. I simply removed the panel covering the bonnet opening switch before working my way upwards.

Because the fuse box is on the passenger side removing that section gives easy access to it. If you remove the drivers side kick panel like ofey suggested you then have to stick your hand up behind the trim and try to push out on of the blanks. After the blank is pushed out then you have to feed up your wires from the bottom. Now this doesn't help if your wires are already run as yours are.

Because I had removed the actual panel it was very easy to see how it is clipped in. The tabs on the top and bottom of the blank are in a small hole. (plastic on either side of tab). A precision screwdriver is a very fine screwdriver only a couple of millimetres wide. Using the fine screwdriver enabled me to lift the plastic behind the tab to push it back out of its hole.
