So tempting. I'm due for take a heap of A/L. However my rego and insurance falls due just thr week before. Will have to tally up my finances....

So how cheap and cheerful are we willing to go? Wotif generally have decent cheapish deals....

Had a look at http://www.wotif.com/search/Advanced?ma ... ewType=all

There's sub-$100 rates;
El Paso Motor Inn for $89 per day
Excelsior Motor Inn for 90
Golden Chain Port O’Call Motel $90
Motel Mid Pacific $99
Ocean Breeze Motel $75
(maybe peeps get murdered there or something. LOL) [murder is not funny kids!] :)

I was actually hoping to get us some cabins and leave motels as a last resort. I think parking may be easier at a caravan park with cabins then at a motel (at least that was the case in Coffs last time :P).

Just a bump for interest people I am still trying to secure us a place to stay, seem port is a bit harder to get group accom then Coffs. Alot of places want minimum 3-5 night bookings as this is also a school holiday period, so far I am a waiting responses from 5 different caravan parks. My main search criteria has been parking for our cars which does narrow things down a little.

Anyway being a long weekend we could be looking at around $50ish per person per night, bit higher than what I was hoping.

What I think I might do is organise a place for us to stay as a group then I will get everyone to book their own accom, and you if you plan to share then a thread could be started to work something out.

PS can I ask that you also state whether you can stay both Saturday and Sunday night.

Cheers Nathan.

I am in still. :D

Will get my own cabin. Both nights :

Maybe we can look at different locations if port is proving difficult like you mentioned to me the other night...

Our plans have been sheveld, some what...

Work has got something on, and the Taxman was not as kind as I had hoped.... :(

Don't include us in any of the numbers - If we can manage to get to the weekend we'll find our own accomodation

As the title suggests I am asking everyone's opinion on changing the meet location from Port Macquarie to Coffs Harbour. I have been trying to scout accom in Port but have been having some trouble trying to accommodate us as most of the places are very small with no parking or want us to book a minimum of 3 to 5 nights. If we move the meet to Coffs I would suggest that we once again stay at the Park Beach Caravan Park that we stayed at back in February.

Park Beach Caravan Park treated us very well last time and are more than happy to allow us to park as many cars as we like. They still have a large variety of cabins available for the long weekend ranging from approx $77 per couple per night to $124 per couple per night depending on how deep your pockets are :P. The park is also 50m from the beach and about the same to the local bowling club.

So What do you think?

EDIT: Coffs Harbour is approx- 7 hours from Sydney
- 5 hours from Brisbane

Sorry Guys but I am going to have to can this for the long weekend, there is no longer any place that will take us as they are all booked :( :(.

I was at the Park beach caravan park 10 days ago and they had 14 cabins free, I rang this morning and they have 2 :(. I suggest we move this a normal weekend, it will be cheaper and there will be plenty of cabins in Feb I managed to book 7 cabins 2 weeks before we stayed.

So do you guys have any suggestions about weekends we could do, the 9/10 Oct is out for me as I graduate that weekend plus it is the Bathurst 1000 :D other then that I am good.

http://www.greatlakes.com.au/7020/Accommodation/Cabins/

this place is nice, despite the fact that its in tuncurry (honestly not much to do).. but i booked there for family from tues-sat of the 2nd week of hols, and they still had a fair few cabins available for the longweekend, problem being location, and some may find it a bit $$$
