Anyone have any ideas why my bumper is white insted of primer? Or is that the primer? The finish looked almost like it was ready to put on...Wouldnt be a second hand bumper by any chance would it?

from what i know mitsu body parts if ordered new come pre painted, to what colour is chosen.

if it was unpainted it would be black, as its a black plastic, as seen on the inside. of the bumper.

and if it was primer, it would be black, as plastic primer is usually clear

and they aren't treating your Lip Kit very nice. look at the huge bend in it.

I was informed Mitsu parts are supplied unpainted.
Maybe they've base-coated it white because your car is blue.
Fact: Any colour over a dark/black base will look darker and some colours flat out won't 'cover' black... classic example is yellow.

Following that sidenote:

Got my car assessed by the body shop today, looks like it's just going to be a bar swap (though they still want the car two days) and an RA bar is no extra money.

I can be pretty sure that new mitsubishi bars do actually come pre painted white like this.. They call it a 'basecoat' but really it is ready to fit straight to a 'wicked white' lancer.. Same with the pajeros.. It's a hassle for the repairer as it takes more prep. A lot of other manufacturers supply new parts in raw plastic (usually black), I really don't know why Mitsubishi do it..

Went and saw them today. They said all mitsubishi parts come supplied painted as white. He even showed me the box it came in with the part number and colour aswell.

They are having trouble with the skirt though, they are trying to put the blame on me though, the skirt has a sharp ridge thing in the middle which they said was from bad forming, but they left my bumper lip unsupported on a shop table which has caused it. They said they'd do their best to make it fit, if they cant, they will just paint it for me and i can do what i want with it...

@Tadz: I can confirm to you that all major Mitsubishi body parts when they come from your Parts Supplier arrive white.
That's partially one of the reasons why fleet cars are White.

I can also say that YOU seem to have very bad luck with smash repairers. Don't go to those who seem the cheapest. Do your research first before doing anything. Here in VIC, might I recommend The Symes Group.
