are they just a simple replacement of the stock bulbs? or what's involved in the installation? Thanks

Simple replacement. If you look in the manual all you have to do is put your hand somewhere behind the lights and twist to release the old globes. There should be a 'how to remove your healights' in the DIY section as well.
