There has to be a bit of resistance on the window for it to stop or reverse

I think another reason to have the safety stop is to prevent damage to the motor and or window regulator

The welcome light thing my car already does that. Comes on when I unlock and goes off when I lock it. Even #1 had that so dont really think that is a new feature of the MY011.

The MY09 model cycle had gearbox revisions, new trim levels and a few other bits and pieces. Think MY09 was the official intro for the Sportback and Ralliarts. Not sure. MY09 cycle had alot of other things happening in the Lancer range.

The MY10 cycle pretty much just got safety upgrades, sound deadening in the windscreen, premium audio as standard in higher models and colour displays for Ralliart and Evo.

I more interested in the 2012 Lancer...

ofey wrote:Unlikely that the MY11 pricing will be lower. Think about it when has new models ever been cheaper than old ones? They will probably firesale the MY10s then those will be cheaper anyways.

Mitsu brakes are by far the best of any of the Jap brands but the kizashi raised the level with akebono brakes so they had to step up.

Insulation in the first batch MY08 were terrible. Then they gradually improved it. Still not ideal even in MY10s so I think the MY11 will really go all out.

Agreed that it's unlikely the pricing will be lower. If you want cheap deals you're best off waiting for end of year sales to get rid of last year's plated cars.

This kind of thread comes up in every car club every time a newer revision of the same shape happens..

I agree.. some of you have to just deal with it... or like me, never own a new car..

I bought mine a year old, at auction for $15k.. with only modest KM attached. Most of the big depreciation is done...

I am not too sure, but welcome lights might be possible to retrofit, if the etacs can accept the new programming.. but it isn't the be-all end-all.

If you park in your garage, the light comes on automatically in there already! Elsewhere, its called a torch..!!

@ try

The welcome lights r more of an easier way to find ur car in a parking lot if u lost it, and I think it looks alright, they can also b called surround lights, have small lights in the bottom of exterior mirrors

To set them up just hook them in with ur door switch, or if u have them ur flooding mirrors

Finally figured out what the 'welcome lights' were. I thought they were on the inside  The Americans have had this feature from day one with the CJ Lancers and most of them hate it. The ones that hated it most of them got their lights reprogrammed for that not to come on. For them it was called the 'courtesy lights'.

I don't care what anyone says... I do like that colour. It suits the car.

Hmmm, actually looks alright, school colour was close to this and no one liked it. In the pic it looks pretty sweet, need to see it in real life

whitemonster: I think it's the same color but bear in mind Evos get different paint quality. Those 2 are Evos and they do look pictured in different lighting conditions.
