WTB:- pair of front struts to suit my 2007 VR (same as ES) 2.0L
Found a pool of oil under the LH wheel - the strut blown & Mitsubishi said no warranty due to the King springs I fitted.
I'm now looking for at least a pair of stock fronts or perhaps VRX struts (full set??)
I checked with Pedders - they don't have aftermarket replacement for standard - anyone know of an alternate?
Looking in Brisbane if possible.

Gave her to much in the twisties last Sunday Ian?,
I suppose so - they did say at Mitsubishi that they hadn't seen any blown struts on a CJ yet - looks like I'm the first for them anyway!

KYB definitely make some replacements... not sure of the models but have came across them on Ebay....
Just checked and found both ES/VR & VRX are available from KYB - just curious if they are only different 'inside' IE valving or externally different fit and worth looking at the VRX - as they are the same price!

The rear struts are identical, the only difference is seemingly stronger/stiffer dampening in the VRX struts, so I would recommend putting the VRX struts in as they should cope better with the King Springs.
I have personally fitted the rear struts to a ES, however i am yet to do the front stronts, given they both take the same style spring I am pretty sure they will also be identical in physical size/dimensions.
BTW I am pretty sure the Mitsu/OEM struts are actually KYBs anyway...

Thanks for the input guys - the friendly staff at GSA Springwood helped me out with a set of KYB's in VRX set up.
We measured the ES struts next to the VRX & they appear the same.
I plan to fit up on the weekend - so I'll post how it went.
Picked up some spiral wrap for the King springs to hopefully silence them too. I'll take some pics if anyone is interested.

Just an update - I fitted the VRX tuned KYB struts front & rear as suggested - with my King Lows.
Result - very harsh ride indeed - I don't reccomend it at all.
Cornering is sweet - but the car bounces over small edges at slow speed.
OH well not to worry - traded it yesterday on a Falcon XR6 Ute - bit of a change I know - but the Lancer was going down hill fast & Mitsubishi showed their hand here by not allowing warranty on the blown strut - typical!
