The Arrival!
Saying that I got a new car yesterday doesn't really do it justice, so let me just set the scene.
My memory may been a bit fuzzy, but I am pretty sure this is exactly how it happened.
Yesterday, in the torrential rain that has been plaguing us the last few days, I battled my way across Sydney to pick up my new car. I watched as lesser vehicles were consumed by the fury of mother nature. Hyundai Exels washed down the gutters, Camrys floated upside-down around roundabouts and I even witnessed a couple of Kias being sucked into the deeper puddles by monstrous creatures of the depths. As I pulled up to the dealer, the clouds dissipated and a single ray of light split through the sky and lit up my new ride in a holy glow. It was as if the gods themselves delivered this vehicle!
What you are looking at is my brand new Mazda 3 MPS Luxury in Aluminum! (it had started raining again by the time I got home hence the wet photos. I did get to test her out in the dry for about an hour after I left the dealer)
She's a 6 speed manual, with an inline 4 cyl 2.3L turbo inter-cooled engine, pumping out 190kW @ 5500 rpm and 380Nm @ 3000 rpm. The power is intense, with almost no noticeable lag. Torque steer is noticeable in the wet, but goddamn it makes it fun to drive I've already begun think about customization, so I'm pretty sure many mods are sure to be on the way!
Here's one more pic for good measure!
Oh yeah, just because I no longer have a CJ doesn't mean that I won't be sticking my head in every few weeks, or coming along to cruises.
EDIT: oh yeah, good work to bd-850 & bye2u for guessing the silhouette!

Yeah I saw that, they are offering a discounted rate on it at the moment too. Hmm good question, probably as much as possible!!

So glad to see that you didn't go with a Chrysler 300c or XR6T Ryan.......Can I ask if you considered the new widebody WRX coming out at the end of September or did you just like the shape of the mps better. Too bad we can't get the Focus RS in Australia. Now thats hot!!!
You won't have any transmission problems to worry about with power upgrades ( like the SST owners) .....just maybe a bit of torque steer, but if you launch it just right, it should be ok.

Nice mate... I'm sure you'll enjoy it
I've been told by a reliable source who has just purchased and got involved with modding his XR5 Turbo, that they are bringing out some of the RS models.... 131 to be exact - and they're all already accouted for....

Congrats on the buy Ryan. I drove the older shape extensively but not the car for me simply because of it being only FWD with that much power.
Best of luck with it
there is a koenseggeg(probably spelt wrong) supercar that has like 700hp that is only front wheel drive.
