So At my 30,000km service the dealer tried to hit me with $120 to change my pollen filter and check the aircon system, I told them not to worry about it.
The next day I checked my cars pollen filter and it was FILTHY, I did not want it in my car any more! So I went to my local dealer and asked how much the part was by itself, they quoted me A$69-79. I told them not to worry about it and I'll source it elsewhere cheaper.
Got one off eBay for around $20.
It arrived today so I swapped it out and here is a DIY for you guys.
I strongly recommend checking and changing this as if you see it and it's disgusting like mine you'll realise what you're breathing in every time you use your aircon, lol.
Tools required: NOTHING!
Time required: 5 Minutes tops.
No experience needed at all, anyone that can read this DIY can change the filter.
This will NOT void your warranty in any way.
STEP 1 - Removing the Glovebox.
Open your glovebox and pull together the parts circled in red while pushing it down further, then simply pull it out.
STEP 2 - Removing the guard to the filter.
There are two clips, one at each red circle in the below picture, unclip these by pulling the clips out and pulling forward and then remove front guard exposing the air filter.
STEP 3 - Removing/replacing the air filter.
Simply pull the filter out, if this is difficult use something to lever it out such as a flathead screwdriver or your car key, then just put the new filter in with the arrows pointing the right way (down).
STEP 4 - Repeat the steps backwards!!
And then you're done!!
Simple, right?
