Fixing gutter rash on rims in Brisbane

Postby vincentchua » Sun Apr 11, 2010 9:23 pm

Can anyone recommend a half decent (and reasonably priced) outfit that fixes gutter rash?

How much can one expect to pay per rim?

I was quoted $25 per wheel a couple of years ago, you just have to take your wheel to a tyre shop and have them take the tyre off and then get it put back on after it is repaired. Cost will also depend on how bad the damage is and the way it is repaired.

or there is a how to in the DIY section here

If you have lots of free time try the DIY :)

Or just leave it like me (and sand it a little).. it should stop bothering you after a while...

I've got rimskins also. They've protected me from one potential scrape - driving out of PMR Cambelllfield of all places - rear left wheel went into a hole in the concrete close to the road. Peeled part of the rimskin off, so bought a new set to replace it and some spares.
