It's done for a reason...

There is an outlet of some kind heading off somewhere. Possibly a feed for the SST?

The CVT has a feed line on ours coming from the radiator cap part.

I still on the hunt for us poor NA ers. I rang another place today that claim to make custom hoses for trucks and buses, no good unless you find pluming would need to join multiple hoses together like with storm water drainage.

The hunt continues.....

Samco?

Don't they have kits for both Evo and NA Lancer?

Hmmm...

Saw the Samco NA ones on one of the Malaysian body kit websites (can't remember but I know they were located in Johor Bahru).... any ideas who it is?

And the Evo X ones on their 'Rest of the World' part of the website.

jace save your money. these hoeses are pretty much for bling. any gains would be negligable at best and only really when you are pushing the car hard on track days. for street use there is no need to upgrade your current pipes and if you want bling the Jun radiator pipe kit looks 10,000 times better IMO.

as for nothing being available for the NA lancer. have a look at the aforementioned Jun pipe kit. you'll see that a few parts of it are made from alloy (its shiny and since i have the attention span of a magpie i find it attractive) with silcone pipes for the tighter bends. im pretty sure that if i had a volunteer i could make a kit for a NA lancer in a day. i have several metres of alloy pipe sitting around and a pipe bender all that's needed is some extra clamps and the bends which can be purchased from supercheap/autobarn. and some more coolant (looks at adrian as guinea pig)

Ended up deciding to go down the air intake (SRI) route. Some American kits (both K&N and Injen) include the UICP int he pack for <$500usd so looks like a winner.

Mate you didn't read the instructions clearly! It says they can't ship to your address by default and request you speak to their customer consultant people. I have to admit I was a bit doubtful at first but the live support is really good- it's someone who sits in the warehouse and has links with USPS (US Postal Service) and various courier options. They basically talk you through what options are available and if you're happy on price, you can proceed with your order. It also lets you arrange for custom orders (i.e. mix and match other parts and then ship in one big box to save on costs).

Only downside is you need to be awake in US time... hence why I was up at midnight on a Friday night talking to someone online :) But very happy with the overall price ($448usd shipped to a GPO Box in Sydney).
