REmoving CVT Gear Knob?

Hey guys, I am considering on removing my stock CVT gear knob, and replacing with a custom one, but i don't know how to take it off. Is it possible even? i've heard the manual ones can be unscrewed, but not sure bout CVT, and don't really wanna attempt it just incase .
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

hmms looks like it can't com off lol... now that i think about it, i did see this one knob that had 6 led's in it... legal or not???

CVT knobs are held in by clips , so it's quite hard to remove them compared to the manual one

you could bond one on to the stalk though, if you didn't want to reverse it again..

very permanent though

even more permanent, could weld it on lol... but from the pictures, i can see the clips, but now how the f!@k he got to them... it looks like he just shoved the screwdriver inbetween the 2 different materials and just pried it apart...

Looks like anyways... prolly totally different n much simpler in real life...

According to the service manual, you just pull hard on it upwards.

If I do it, I will probably just cut it off shorter and bond on a new one.. helps that I have put on the paddles now though..

cool, so it sounds like its just a matter of pulling it straight off... strength req'd??? like is it 2 hands, 2 feet either side pulling with all ur might, like on the cartoons, or is it just 1 hand, firmly??? (prolly not enough room in car to do the cartoon move)

Its easy, I've done it a few times with no problem. Found this instruction, hope this will help.

1: Firmly depress the brake pedal, turn the ignition key to the 'ACC' postition, and set the shift lever to the neutral postion.

2: Pull up and remove the standard shift knob.

Havn't tried it yet, but whats the reason behind everything??? ie, turning ignition to acc and neutral position?
