EOI - Jaycar 4x100 Watt Amplifier Bulk Buy

Postby LZY_EYE » Fri Feb 19, 2010 8:17 pm

Hi All,

I am in the market for a new amp as my current one is underpowered.

I have been looking at the Jaycar ones as they are a decent price and have a good name.

I am sure Polk etc etc etc are great and are probably better but really don't want to spend big bucks but want something decent.

Anyways, they sell at $349 each.

If, we buy 2, that goes to $315 or $279 if we can buy 5.

So, is there anyone who doesn't want to spend big bucks on an amp, but still wants something (that I think) is decent?

Here is the link: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=AA0426

Might as well throw it out there...

Ive already got an amp setup in my car, its running 8gauge wire from memory. Would it be okay for me to run a distribution block and run both amps off the 8 gauge wire?

My current amp is a Kicker ZX400.1

well presuming that it would have a max of 50Amps. allowable threw it, and your original amp probably 50amps also. so say 100 amps total. 8guauge can probably take 60 or 70amps. id probably go to 4guage, then to a split of 2 8guage to each amp. if you where going to do so.

on that tadz when you put a fuse in for your new 4g wire dont put a 100A fuse in. your amps will never use that and its unnecessary, like Adrian a 60 or 70 Amp fuse will be fine.
