Rockford Headunit from VRX Lancer

Hey everyone!

I'm just about to install a new Pioneer Navi unit into my 2008 VRX Lancer and wonder if the stock 6stack Rockford CD player is worth anything? If it works with the base model lancers it could be a good little upgrade.

I'm thinking of keepting the factory AMP / Sub / Speaker combo for now as I've found a harness online that will startup the Amp & stuff with a 3rd party Head Unit.

Anyway, wonder if anyone would be interested in buying this?

I know a member who could be interested.. hotlanc

Send him a PM and ask him! Tell him I referred you to him.

It would be a direct plug-and-play fit for those ES drivers out there.

I might be interested depending on price

what are the differences from the povo pack stereo?

Only difference is the 6 stack capability.

Even the ES fascia is the same ie it has the "load" button for the 6 stacker function.

So if you already have a 6 stack, there's no reason to buy this?

hey lascoe,

how much are you thinking for the headunit?

do you know whether you can attach a amp & sub directly into that head unit, seeing as it has the stock fosgate sub attached I would have thought so?

cheers

No it's not able to be directly connected. The Rockford sub is not connected like a normal one would be.

It's just plug and play!!! Serious mate!! Everything is there, including the LOAD button on the fascia.

It's just the 6 Stacker, no Rockford Amp or anything. Same as a VR/VRX headunit. The only thing the Rockford adds is the different speakers and the amp/sub. The headunit is the same.

I think moltisanti was referring to the fact that you can't just hook a standard amp etc up to the Rockford headunit.

The best way to do it if you want to stick with a factory head unit is to get an amp that allows line level inputs. This allows you to run your speak wires directly to the amp and negates the need for RCA outputs.

Otherwise, you can always go aftermarket and get a dash kit from japanparts.com (there are other cheaper kits that dont fit quite as well)

If I am completely off the track, I will crawl back in my cave :D

yep lzy_eye thats what i meant bout the sub,

I have a crack that I got off a mate that im gonna try out.. you basically connect speaker wires from the back speakers to this device which then converts it into RCA plugs which plug into the amp..
but obviously similar to the line level inputs you loose power and quality, so i thought if the amp could be connected to the fosgate deck it would be awesome cause I could keep the factory look on the stereo..

Yeah, would be nice if they put RCA outputs on factory stereos but it just doesn't happen!!

Some people have had success with the device you have.... I couldn't be bothered mucking around so I replaced the stock stereo :)
