removing rear discs

Postby aspir3 » Sun Dec 19, 2010 6:26 pm

Has any one removed their rear discs off their car.

I have tried but they seam stuck on. I have removed the wheels and calipers and the hand brake is loose.

I have looked at drawing but I can not see any thing that holds them on.

I would appreciate some advice before I attack them with a big soft hammer.

i haven't done it on the new lancer, but the old one had 4 or 5 bolts behind the hub that held the whole disk and hub assembly onto the trailing arm. then you could separate the disc from the hub assembly.

i don't have any pics though.

maybe the new lancer is similar?

one belt with a rubber mallet will loosen up the disc, no need to pull the hub off. Had the same issue when I painted my calipers.

try a little rost off ice or similar around the hub and a few taps with soft hammer should just pop off
