shame the evo didn't come in a sportback as well - your choice would have been made oh wait, my choice lol
as the others have said - depends on what your goals are with the happy and what you really value - is new the most important thing (so you know the history etc) or looking to mod it / track work down the line, or something that has a bit of poke (for a bit of fun times), sst (so the significant other can drive it when you've had a few too many bevvies) or even being like the cool kids
once you work out what you really want in the car, the choice will be simple - ps, sportback's rock!

Evo X or Ralliart. i cant decide

It's very simple.
If you ARE going to use your car on the circuit, then get a used Evo.
If you are NOT going to use your car on the circuit, then get the RA.
The RA is flawed on a race circuit, however it makes up for it on the road. It has a better turning circle, it's quieter, it has more room, it's more compliant.
The Evo is the exact opposite, it's brilliant on the track in standard form. But the turning circle is lousy, it's noisy by comparison, less room and overall it's a compromise on the road.

I don't want to go ahead and repeat what everyone here has already said, but I should mention one thing that certainly made my mind up in the Evo vs RA debate. The insurance premium!
As an early 20's driver with no claims the ralliart came in just shy of 1k, whereas a used evo8-9 would have been 3.5-4k with the same insurer. I imagine the X is in the same ballpark. I think when you sign up for an evo this great big red flash comes up on their screen and says "EVO! WARNING! WARNING! CHARGE THEM LOTS!"

I was going through this decision also, RA vs EVO.
I found that, at 22 with no claims with AAMI would cost me about $4k to insure an EVO with approx $500 excess. This is compared to approx $2k for the RA. (Note I live in St Albans VIC which pushes up the premium by a few hundred...)
Based on the above I kinda ruled out the EVO.
However I found that the 370Z would only cost approx $2.5k to insure with standard excess... So I am thinking of going down that route. I don't need the extra space & the Z is a nicer and more refined car imo. Anyone else here thought about RA/EVO vs the Z?
