Like the title says I did a regular oil change like I’ve done plenty of before and now my car won’t start. I didn’t disconnect the battery which I never have before. Now it won’t even crank it just hums.
https://youtube.com/shorts/vb_dpJZisuE?feature=shareMy volt meter reads at 11.9 which it’s usually between 12-14. Any help would be appreciated
P.s. I called Mitsubishi and they just told me to jump it and I have a bad connection which I know isn’t true because it started just fine this morning

Well that was fast. I couldn’t find my original key so I was trying with my spare. I found my original key and it hesitated but started up. Any idea why that would matter? I’ve driven using my spare before with no issues. Also my volt meter is now reading 14.3 which is normal.

Usually a flat battery in the key will do that. How long since they were changed?

It’s not the key with the battery, just a regular one. I bought the car used, it came with a remote but that never worked. Also I know how to change a battery thank you bumble lol. I didn’t realize that was a thing because I’ve never had a car newer than 2012 but with a standard key how could that prevent the engine from turning over?

The key you have should have an embedded chip which the car recognises. When a locksmith cuts a new key they have to program the new key chip, they get the information from your other key.Now that is running again have you tried your spare key again?

Or you can edit the key configuration/ security with MUT3 software
Whatever works

Can we see a photograph of your key? Just for curiosity to see which key they are. Thanks

Thanks for that. The Australian cars didn’t use that type

I believe this was actually the spare, I think the original was the type with the 4 buttons. Not the one that flips out
