RA SST fluid change with warranty work

So my RA is going into Mitsubishi to have the mechatronic assembly replaced under warranty. They want to charge me for the fluid change and filter. Shouldn't that be covered under the warranty as Mitsubishi would specify that a new part must have new fluids?
Cheers for the help

Had my clutch packs replaced under warranty last year and the fluid and filter change was part of the warranty work.

Can't understand how they could separate out the mechatronics replacement and the REQUIREMENT for a fluid and filter change that is caused by conducting the warranty work.

Would suggest that the dealership is wrong on this score.

Agreed, when my clutches were replaced under warranty they also replaced the transmission fluid as well. Don't see why they should charge you for it. However this didn't include the filter, but Alan should be able to help you with that, it's quite simple to do yourself.

Excellent!! Thanks guys! I'll call the dealer and give me a piece of my mind (respectfully).

They're still giving me the same line about saving and reusing the fluid. I asked them about damaged parts burning/damaging the oil and they said that they'd just look at the oil when they do the work argh!

Does anyone know how to contact Mitsubishi directly? I keep on getting directed to a dealer, I need head office to clarify this.

Cheers

I've also had my clutch pack changed. I didnt have to pay for fluid, when I asked about the filter, they said it wouldn't be part of the warranty work. I asked if I can pay for the part and they said yes. I think they charged me ~$150 for the filter - everything else was covered.

Mine was done at Toowong Mitsubishi.

Is your dealer a Ralliart licensed service centre?

Yeah they're a licensed ralliart service centre. They said that they would contact Mitsubishi regarding the the fluid change. I've also pinged off an email to Mitsubishi directly (thanks to megatron).

Possibly. I'm not sure that my warranty would've still been existent with a ford filter though!

Steve, please don't tell people they are the same when they are NOT.

granted the fluids are very similar but not 100% the same.

prove theyre not alan, i`ve been using the ford fluid for 20000 k`s no obverse reactions, there analysis on other threads.

theyre 99.9 % the same maybe 100%, too little a difference to care.

in all things practical they are the same
