Hello Guys,
I hope everyone is well. I have few couple of questions...they might be stupid but here I go...
Yesterday while doing a DYI service...for some reason I poured the whole 5L of oil. This isnt the firt time I did my own DYI. I dont know what I was thinking using the whole 5L (half a sleep I suppose). So instead of loosening the sump plug to drain excess oil I decided to take a short cut and drained via dipstick tube using pvc hose and siphoning excess oil. My questions are:
1. Was it necessary to drain excess oil? And what consequences will it have to the engine if I didnt drain excess oil?
2. Was there damaged done inside engine like the oil pump strainer by inserting a pvc hose in the dipstick tube?
Thank you guys im advance...you are all awesome crew!

Yes try to stick to manufacturers recommendations.
Too much oil can cause frothing\aerating issue and loss of oil flow so less pressure and stalling. your seals will fail over time and oil will start to leak from the engine.
Air is not a lubricant so there will be damage to bearings as well and the chance that oil can be pushed into the combustion chamber and outwards rendering your cat completely useless.
I wouldn't really worry about damage unless it was run hard. and by how much it was over filled.
You wont see overfilling symptoms for quite some time usually.
Get your self a fumoto drain valve. best 35 bucks spent.
