MY12 Evo X - Brake System Maintenance Required Warning

Hi guys and girls,
Got the above warning this evening when I was heading home from my parent's house. I had to do a quick U turn and I was also going uphill. The red warning message appeared on the dash info display for about 2 seconds and then went away.
My pads are down to about 30% and my brake build level is also just above indicated minimum on the reservoir. Could a bit of sloshing cause such a warning?
