Re: Help needed!: ASC "Service Required" Error
cheers mate, but mines still working. But there's a 2016 Lancer with 29k kms at the wreckers and the ABS module is $49 so I couldn't resist bagging it as a spare.

dopey wrote:hey are all 2 litre Lancer ABS pumps all compatible? not that mine's stuffed but it sounds like the earlier models have issues and there is a 2015 Lancer at the wreckers with under 30,000 kms which I think would be good as a spare. thanks!
VIN numbers? I believe on the EVO and Ralliart are going to be different, RA may be the same but different pressures for the two pot fronts, the Lancers didn't really change much all had EBD and ABS so should be okay.

The pump is out of a bog standard 2l lancer ES so I'm hoping it will be compatible.
But now I have a spare chances are I'll never need to find out

Just following up on this one dopey.. any need for the spare?
Does anyone know if newer pumps can be swapped into older Lancer - say 2015 to 2010 ?

Re: Help needed!: ASC "Service Required" Error
I had mine done by the guy on E-bay very happy I think about $350 or so beats the stealerships $2500 and with a 5year warranty.
I did a bit of a back ground check on these units turns out they are a product of that great German engineering, the company that makes them is a division of Continental Tyres.

I'll add my name to the list now as well - 2008 VR-X.
Who was the ebay seller offering the service with 5 year warranty?
Thanks

Re: Help needed!: ASC "Service Required" Error
How close do the part numbers need to be
Mine is a 4670A265 - I can find 4670A539 for sale (and other numbers)
Will they all work, or does it need to be an exact match?
My assumption is that they are just revisions and "should" work, but we all know what assuming does.....
Thanks

Re: Help needed!: ASC "Service Required" Error
The part number is different for a reason. I wouldn’t go plugging one in just to find out. I don’t know what the difference is,it could be pressure settings for different size calipers or as you said different electronic versions. You may need to speak with Mitsubishi.

Re: Help needed!: ASC "Service Required" Error
Just did some research the different part# do have different ECU versions. You would be taking a risk using the wrong version. If it damages the power supply inside the pump then you are back to square one.I would be wary of using a second hand matching numbers pump there’s a better than average chance that it may not have been repaired previously so it will fail in time.Repairing your pump and getting a five year warranty is the best alternative.

Re: Help needed!: ASC "Service Required" Error
The power is supplied via the battery, the ECU attached to the back of the hydraulic module switches power from the battery to the pump directly.
I would be using the hydraulic and motor module, and switching back in your ECU unit, since the fault is probably the motor, and the motor isn't easily replaced without the hydraulic unit, but, the ECU might be able to be swapped over..
I would look to keep the original ECU, because it's probably got the VIN programmed into it and so swapping the ECU itself might open up VIN mismatch errors etc.
Disclaimer: I don't work for Mitsubishi or Ate (the manufacturer of the ABS module), I don't manufacture the devices, I have no internal knowledge of the exact components internal to each device.

Re: Help needed!: ASC "Service Required" Error
The fault is C2116 low voltage. The problem is in the circuit board attached to the pump. There isn’t usually a problem with the pump or the motor
