i went to my local mitsu service dept with a minor problem with my car that is annoying the shit out of me.
my heater/air vents wont stay put.
i prefer to have them pointed down, but no, after every bump they bounce up into my face
the service dept looked at the vent then looked at 2 other lancers handy, same problem
is this a design fault?
to ascertain this i need numbers of owners with the same problem.
set your fan to about half and see if the vent stays put please, and let me know
shut
bounced open

Mine does it too. Except mine goes from pointing at me to pointing straight up.
And yeah only that driver's side vent.
How would it be a ralliart issue? Lol. Same vent, same dash, probably same aircon system..
I have seen other members mention it. I think it was in that 'What DON'T you like about your lancer' thread.
Mine at least isn't a wear and tear issue, at least not from me (maybe sun exposure) as I've never moved it other than to put it back
Edit: I'll confirm exactly what mine does at work tonight.

I checked tonight and like I said, I point mine at my hand and soon after it'll be pointing up at nothing.
So, it seems to be that they are loose and bump up a bit from the spot you normally have them.
If we could get a letter from mitsu saying we can get them under warranty that would be good, so we could produce it if a service department acts like they won't do it.
