I have a 2010 Lancer Ralliart and have noticed that if the Iphone is within 20cm of the key, the car has problems starting.
My brother has a blackberry and he has something similar happen also with his ralliart.
Spoke to Mitsubishi and they haven't heard about this happening.
Has anyone come across this before?

it would be a signal problem the key and the phone are proably transmitting around the same frequency, so they are interfering with each other.

Maybe mitsubishi can recode the keys to a different frequency

ii dunno, i think the frequency is determined by there wireless sender in the key, that transmits a code to tell the cars key ECU to unlock, allowstart, ect. i would presume the sender is the same in all cars.
the main problem with, that tho is the overlapping of signal. so the stronger/closer signal will take preferance over the other, at the same signal.
so i think the main thing you can do is either have your phone away from your key, or have the key closer then the phone to the keys ECU.

I have always had this problem with my RA. Similarly if I have my iphone and key in the same pocket the car wont unlock using the button or touch sensor etc etc.. I believe it is a standard common problem, my Dad has the same problem with the same type of key on his Lexus as well with his iPhone

sounds more like an Iphone Problem rather then the Keys fault lol

Interesting post... I do remember with the 08 RA model that if I had my mobile phone (and its not an Iphone) in the same pocket as my keys I had similar issues.
