Currently I'm on Centerlink New Start but I might need to drive my mother to Adelaide later in the year. Now I'm about to go onto the WFTD phase for 6 months. Assuming I don't find work in the mean time.
Previously when I've had to go out of town for extended periods its been otherwise the WFTD period so it was just a matter of looking for work online and when applying let them know I was not available for a few weeks.
So as far as I figure my options are.
Wait and go in Feb, not the ideal time to travel at the peak of summer.
Have any payment suspended for the period while away.
And thats all I've got. Last time I was away, just over 12 months ago, I let my agency know, we worked out a plan then one week in I get a call telling me I had to be back by such a date to start WFTD again, even though I'd been telling them of my plans for months, and I was some 4000km away in WA at the time. I managed to get back in time but it really screwed up the plans and I don't want to disappoint the family again.
Anyone had this situation?
