Hi guys - just thought I'd start a thread so we can get to know a bit more about each other. Apologies if it's been done before. Anyway, I'll kick off.
I am Andrew, 29 yrs old and engaged - gonna get married in March '09.
I live in Campbelltown, south west Sydney Australia. I bought a house there last year.
I work as a town planner at a Council, which means I look at applications for new buildings and subdivisions and things like that. To get the job I have now I was at Uni of NSW for 5 years doing an honours degree and the Council I am at now is my 5th Council. I've moved around a bit but have been in Campbelltown for the past 3 years - I also lived in southern NSW/VIC and in Dubbo for a while too. I also drive buses (full sized 60 seaters) for extra cash as a casual on weekends. I have a licence that also lets me drive coaches, although there's not much work for those drivers as a casual. I've also driven trucks here and there, including b-doubles down in Vic when I used to live there (at Echuca).
Hmm that's probably about all for now, but go nuts and let us know what you do....
Edit: good idea Hoggy about car history.
Firstly, apologies to international guys not aware of these cars, but here goes - my first car was an '89 Mazda 626 - not the best car, but not a bad place to start. I then bought a V6 Camry from my parents that did me for a few years through uni. I then moved bush and got work cars - I'm up to my 17th work car - 3 AUIII Fairmonts, 3 BA Fairmonts, 1 VYII Berlina (2nd worst car ever), 4 BA XR6s, 1 BA povo pack ute, 2 VZ Commodores, 1 Astra wagon (worst car ever) and now I'm onto my second Ford Focus turbo diesel (champion cars). I also had my own 5 Litre V8 VS Commodore ute that I modded heaps, including putting a twin exhaust system on it without mufflers (very illegal, but sounded awesome) but I sold that as I wasn't using it enough and used the cash as a house deposit . I kept the phone no. of the bloke I sold it to though, as if I ever win lotto, the second phone call I make (I guess I have to tell the mrs first??) will be to that bloke and I will buy that ute back!

I am Sam, 31years old, married with a 3 year old son Dion.
Moved over from the UK 5 months ago and am slowly settling in, currently living in Manly but lloking to move when the rent is up as too bloody expencive on 1 salary.
I have worked for BOC for 6 years, in various marketing/business roles varying from launching BOC branded gas equipment and welding machines in the UK, entering the safety business in the UK, that we grew to 10million GBP in 2 years, to writting the Business Strategy for the Uk and Ireland. I am now in a new start up division of BOC - LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) we liquify natural gas so it can be used as a diesel substitute in large trucks.
Car history. Being from the UK you may not be familiar with all of these but my first car was an MG Metro, then I had a Vauxhall (Holden) Cavalier SRi, then got a Ford Orion (which was my sterio show car), then I imported a 250bhp full race spec FTO, then bought my first house so had to sell it and got an Audi A4 and a Braubus Smart Car for the Mrs. Then I got a Mk5 VW Golf TDi (was doing lots of miles) and the wife had a VW Polo TDi, before the sprog arrived and we got a VW Touran. Then I got a Vauxhal Astra Wagon and got the Mrs a Mini Cooper Convertible. Then moved to Oz and as you know I have a CJ and she has a '96 Jeep

I'm Josh - 18 years old, just finished school (thank god).
Most likely moving to the Gold Coast @ start of January, I got accepted into Bond University last week.
I'm originally from the UK - lived in the UK til I was 12, then the family did a 'world tour' sorta thing - went basically everywhere in SE Asia and Australia, as well as a few European countries, China, Florida. We went to Cairns first, and Cairns last, and fell in love with it and moved here basically.
If theres something to be done - chances are I'll do it without thinking about it...I've made many mistakes in the past haha.
Car history: I got my license last December (its been like a year and two weeks now lol) and my first car was my mums ex-car, a 2003 Nissan Pulsar sedan. I had that, and loved it - its a fun as car to drive - until July '08. My sister got her learners in July, so that car became hers, as it was the only manual car we had. I needed a new car, so me and me dad went carhunting for a few weeks, sort of raising the budget every time we went out...i think it started at 5 grand and finished at 25? Eventually I was left with a choice between a lime green '06 XR6 or a brand new CJ. Given the fuel prices at the time, the fact the dealer wouldnt go cheap enough on the XR6 and the fact dad had contacts in Mitsubishi, plus the fact the CJ would be entirely mine, from paint colour to future mods. So..it was a fairly simple choice inthe end, and the rest,as theysay, is history. had it for 4 months now, 13,500km's and absolutely LOVE it. Will get an Evo X in future.
