so today my lovely fiance rang Family Law solicitors and got some info, they all said it seems like a pretty much open and shut case in my favour.

friday 3pm i have an appointment with 1 law firm.. $330 for an hour meeting and $2000 retainer if i go with them to the hearing in August. if nothing can be resolved and it goes to Trial, then im looking at $16000 for a barrister.

Update on the Legal front... had another solicitor appointment and got our lawyer for the Court hearing.

they literally LAUGHED at the Affidavit that my son's mother has put forth. we have disproven a lot of the points and also raised a lot of concerns about her situation (no home, no job, pregnant, abusive fiance)

my son is being appointed an Independent Childrens Lawyer (ICL) who will meet with him and get his side of it all and how he feels etc and represent him in court as he cant actually be there.

also, a Family Report, which is what holds the most weight in the hearing, which will go majorly in my favour.

In short, it looks like he will live full time with Kyrra and I, and have a supervised visit with his mum every 2nd weekend in a community Center, supervised by proper professionals.

so all in all Ive been pretty good and upbeat about things over the last 2 days since the meeting.

You Know Matt There should be more of the law allowing the children involved to have a say who they want to live with if they are old enough to make that decision , It's good to hear that your young fellow has that opportunity to be involved as it's his life being affected as well & I wish you luck with it all

She surrendered him this time list year after all the domestic violence came out. Now she is trying to get him back and living with her and only see me every 2nd weekend

court was adjourned as she had a baby.

new date is Sept 26.

QLD Police, Child Safety, and QLD Health have been issued with a subpoena each regarding the domestic violence that my son witnessed several times over

Wow. Things are really stressfull for you Matt. I hope things get sorted out. Sounds like it's pretty expensive already, with all the legal costs. I hope you dont end up pennyless after all this.
